You heard Sarah Palin's comment, at the National Republican Convention, about how a hockey mom is a lot like a pit bull, with liptick..........uh yeah, I'm scared!
We went to sign up at the rink.....where they also sold the shirts. Nate got a grey one, Weston got black.....I was looking at my options, weighing them in my mind, trying to decide, grey with black lettering or grey with white and black lettering plus design......hmmmm. Which is most classic? What pants will I wear most with it.........
Well, take a look at what I'll be wearing this year.
How could I say "no"?
It's totally not my style, but, he came running at me carrying this sweatshirt, His face beaming! "MOM!! THIS ONE"S PERFECT!!" He yelled. "I found it, look! Don't you just love it? Didn't I pick a perfect sweatshirt for you, mama?"
I let go of my pride, took a deep breath and said, "Yes. It's perfect."
"I KNEW YOU'D LOVE IT!", He bounced!
So, okay. Is it Understated? No. Classic? No. I guess I won't be able to hide very well in this Pepto Bismol monster, but, as my mother pointed out, at least he'll be able to find me when he looks up to the stands....

I think pink is your color, for sure!
I love pink! Isn't is scary sometimes when the kids pick out something "perfectly" mom that you wonder--oh my gosh, is that how they see me? Go Hockey! You will have a blast and make the best BFFs. How could you not love the sweat shirt! It has "I love my Mom written all over it." By the way, I bought a red soccer hoodie with blue polka dot lettering. Yep, my junior soccery son is wearing it! I ought to try pink! LOL
The things we do (wear) for the love of our children...you're a good mom (sport).
My only concern is how fast do the paramedics respond where you live? The other hockey moms may pick on you...{grin!}
Weston is precious! I would have done the same thing. ;)
That is so sweet! I'm a big fan of pink myself :) I think you look great -- but I'll admit I don't know the first thing about being a hockey mom :)
I love it! Pink is my favorite color. And with your complexion I think it's a great color on you. But sometimes it's all about keeping warm and comfy and that sweatshirt looks to be both of those.
Yes! it totally says "MOM", doesn't it? ha!
That is soooo true. He'll see you and he'll love you for it. My daughter plays college b-ball and there were many times she'd come off the court upset and not very nice to me and her Dad but later, she always said she wanted us there - cheering her on. And she always looked for us in the stands - even though we were always there - she still looked.
You look great and your son will always be grateful for your support. =]
It looks good on you... and he'll totally love you for going with his choice for you.
Besides once you do the 3 Day, you'll grow more fond of pink. ;-)
He'll also give you gifts you'd rather return... just wear them. I'm not a hearts & flowers type - but I wear the heart earrings that Ben gave me every time we have 'date night' and he's always telling people how he picked them just for me... sigh. I smile.
Somehow I think you gave in very easily with Weston's suggestions. Weston said "how about this one" and you said "ok" with about a half second delay. You can't fool us.
Now that is a genuine super-mom moment! You rock!
I do always want to please my boy. and Yes Nate you are right I often give into him easily,...but he was seriously exciting about this one and I seriously didn't have in mind being a pink marshmello all season. :)
PErfect! It's pink! You totally look the part! Work it Baby!
How fun! I am so jealous, hockey isn't very big in UT, and I LOVE hockey (lived in CO for a few years which must be why). Your hoodie sure looks comfy, and your son will always be able to find you. What a good mother you are to swallow your pride and tell him you love it. So sweet!
I think the pink is fabulous, too! Thanks for stopping by hurstburst and commenting. You are gorgeous, your family is gorgeous and your blog is gorgeous! You just got yourself another follower! :-)
So funny...Hockey is a big deal in MN, an expensive big deal, from what I've heard...good luck!
Cute sweatshirt :)
and i can't help but think that the fact he can find you...is all that really matters.
I say your son has good taste!
