So when my friend Tracey (also not a huge football fan) told me she had gotten free tickets from a client to the Vikings game on Sunday. I said "alright...let's do it!". (My husband is a huge football fan and thought this whole plan sounded RIDICULOUS..... but he was a good sport and watched the kids so the ladies could go enjoy the game.)
The cheerleaders were oddly fascinating. Sparkly, bouncing, perky little people, they were. I found myself often watching them instead of the action on the field. I don't quite know why.
But I gotta say, WOW! those guys can run. When I did watch the game I was seriously impressed with their speed. We were in the 12th row so we had a good view (of the running and also of the cleavage)....
I do like sports. Hockey is great! But, to be honest I just don't understand football. I 've had the whole 1st down, 4th down, touch down stuff explained to me. I mean I get it.... (sort of)...... but I just don't see the point. There is so much stopping, and starting, and stopping, and tackling to the ground, and flags, and measuring, and penalties..... with no penalty box....huh?
The hot dogs were good, the Bloody Marys were great and the conversation was even better. So all in all it was a good afternoon. Thanks Trace!!

That sounds like a blast (and this coming from someone who also doesn't get football... as I'm sitting watching football w/ my hubby right now...)
Glad you had a fun afternoon out :)
I'm not a football fan either, but am sitting here watching the Saints play (I'm a New Orleans native) and cheering them on.
Glad you had a great time!
I woulda given my first born (&2nd) for tickets to that game.
Being from Pittsburgh, I have to say that I'm a Steelers fan- it's mandatory! But, I'm more into the tailgating or football-watching parties than watching the whole game. I'll watch the action...but the rest of the time- I socialize or read a book.
I always watched the cheerleaders too because I could understand what they were doing. lol
I'm glad you had fun!
Go Team!!!!

That sounds like so much fun! I am just getting into football this season, and luckily my downstairs neighbor is a HS football coach, so he explains it all to me. I just think it is so much fun to watch, but really, it doesn't hold a candle to hockey.
I'm not really into football either but love to go to the games. It's more about who you're with than the actual game. My hubby has tried to explain all the rules (along with the rules of craps) and it's in one ear and out the other with me!
I don't get football either but I wouldn't have missed a chance at a game either - or getting my picture with that guy!
I love baseball and hockey but I just can't get into football. What's odd about that is that my family is a football family. They are always watching football or talking about it. But I still don't get it! :)
I am not a football fan either, but I would go if someone had free tickets. Thats awesome.
Great thing about how "we" watch football is that win or lose we still would have had the same good time!! :)
what a ball. and you are too cute in that pic. Glad you left the viking helmet to him though. :) LOL.
I'm not into any sports. But I would have gone for free tickets in the 12th row. Looks like you had a great time!
Uggghhhh!! Pathetic. Then you come home all chipper, twirl your finger in your hair, snap on your gum..."uh it was fun, the cheerleader's were interesting. Oh and what were all those yellow handkerchief's laying on the playing field? So what did you do while I was gone?...Did the kids behave good for you?" Urrggghhh! Can I scream now? No I better not, I might scare the kids.
I don't get football, but I do LOVE hockey. At least there is something fun about going to a game live - I could even deal with football for that!

Oh Nathan...I did know the yellow things had something to do with a penalty. I just didn't get why there wasn't a penalty box. I know you were bitter about not getting to go. But you'll survive :)
I do not understand the game of football, either.
Luckily, my husband isn't into it.
:)
How funny, I can't believe the men let you take the tickets :) I love football, but not really large men in fur vests and pointed hats!
Football is my favorite sport. I use to be a fan of the 49rs, now I am an Eagles fan - mostly because I think the quarterback is great. Bloody Mary's at a football game - nice. :)
Funny Hubby...Just saw Nates "urrggghhh" post. I know, we're not "traditional" fans but...we did have a fine time! We whoot whooted, stood when appropriate (most of the time), had the mandatory hot dog and beer...all followed by a little bit of "girly football talk"... Thank you hubby for letting me have your wife for the day. She was a perfect "football partner" for me!
