My Body Responds.....

This post is in response to an earlier letter I wrote to my body. She is not pleased and is thinking of evicting me! To read the original letter, click (here).

Dear Susan,

I am very upset! After ALL I have done for you?? You can't even address me in private? You have to go and post your complaints on your blog!! This is ridiculous! I feel attacked! You go on and on with your rambling list of complaints, and ONLY MENTION IN ONE LINE THAT I GREW TWO ENTIRE HEALTHY HUMAN BEINGS FOR YOU?? That was no easy task, my friend! A combined 18 months of suffering, I deliver you two beautiful children and THIS is the thanks I get???

And you are complaining to ME about the tummy pudge, Miss Peanut M&Ms and peppermint Mochas?? Seriously!??! We are supposed to be a team. It takes two here Missy! You need to get up and go for a run. Until you start doing that, I do not want to hear about the tummy pudge or the double chins again. (Entirely, YOUR FAULT!).

As far as the Acne goes.......... STOP PICKING AT IT!!!!! Drink more water, and relax, I'm working on it.

You asked me about the back problems. I am not cruel. I know your children are important and I can put of with lifting and carrying them around. But you're the idiot who decided to go body surfing in the ocean this summer on a rough and windy day. If you had not gotten us slammed into the sand with a force of a mac truck, maybe the back pain would not be an issue.

Time and time again you say you are going to eat healthy and exercise, I am getting very tired of your delinquency in these matters. I may have to evict you if this continues. I cannot have an irresponsible occupant. I expect you will take this letter seriously and clear up these issues. I expect there will be no more behavior like what happened this summer at the beach. Respect me and work with me as a team. Together, we can do great things.

And I had to post a better picture of us to negate the HORRIBLE photo you put up of us at the beach. You had been eating salt for three days and you were sitting funny. We DO NOT look that bad. Here's a photo from one of our happier times. Please try to focus on the positive and not the negative.

Sincerely,

Your Body

P.S. Turn off the computer and get some sleep!! I'm tired.

I think you both have valid complaints - sounds like you are willing to work together! ;-)

I am pretty sure my body is saying the same thing but I have decided to stop listening.

Heather of the EO told me to come over hear and I sure glad I did.

I really wish I had read yesterdays post about the dentist! what a nightmare!!! I would have had a few things to say in the beginning! Don't be afraid to stand up for him and YOU DO NOT SUCK!!!!
We have a GREAT dentist, right in Roseville that specializes in little people. They get cool sunglasses, the hygenists are young and FUN! They know I hate coming and they are even great to me. Dr. Hunt. I'll get you
the # at hockey this wknd. OH..I'd like to give that other dentist office a piece of my mind!

You are so beautiful...look at that picture! When you look back at pictures of yourself don't you wonder why you were so hard on yourself. I always do. Have a great weekend...and I love the angle you took with this. Genius. Holly

Ha! This is wonderful. I don't know if you remember, but in the comments of your letter to your body, I wondered what your body would have said back to you. This is perfect :)

Susan,

Your body said it very well, but looking at that photo I don't see any hint of a pudge! You look AMAZING!

I need to get my butt in gear too. And I hate the holidays because I'm always stuffing myself. Gah! Good post to help me get motivated, though. Thanks!

I loved the original post to your body and I love this response. Through the humor here, I think you capture something more serious and compelling, namely the oft-antagonistic relationship be have with our own body. I love this picture and this perspective.

This is so funny, and so real! You ought to listen to the content of your body's letter, she is very wise and honest. We can all use friends like that. I for one, should listen to my body, I am totally ignoring her, in other areas that is. Not good!
