If I could dig my way out of my own pile of laundry, I'd be right over to help.

Although actually, I stopped folding the girls' clothes a few weeks ago. My littlest one likes to "help" by taking everything out of her drawer as soon as I put her clothes away, so I eventually started shoving it all back in without refolding. Then I realized it didn't make a bit of difference: not a single extra wrinkle in those cotton kid-sized dresses. Amazing!

I don't mind laundry at all. But there is a very specific reason why I never complain about it. But in summary, I went through Hurricane Katrina and the facility where I lived for five days required us to help out in some way. I was tasked with doing laundry for rescue workers - fireman, policeman, K-9 unit folks. For them, clean laundry that was not covered in rainwater and mud meant so much. So that put laundry in a whole new perspective for me. I did laundry for several HOURS all day long for three days and there were piles of dirty clothes lined in hallways. Again, a very unique situation but one you may want to read about so you realize that it isn't so bad. ;-)

I have delegated my older two girls (6 and 8) to fold their own. I make a pile with their clothes, and they have to sort and put it away in the right drawers. Granted I'm still left with the 3yo's and mine and my husbands, but at least I've done away with two of the sets of clothes. We also taught the older two how to do their OWN wash. That way I can never be blamed because they ran out of socks or underwear. Delegate!!!

I hate folding clothes so I hang them (except undies). But (and don't hate me) I LOVE folding towels. I worked for a Linens N Things knockoff store and learned how to fold them in the fancy, pretty way. So I love folding the towels.

I'm surprised you didn't comment about the inter-gallactic space warp inside the dryer that seems to swoop up a random sock and space warp it to another dryer on the other side of the continent. Laundry is my nemesis too. It really doesn't ever end...EXCEPT ....back in the day when my washer was in need of repairs and we'd load up every soiled garment in the house and go to the laundramat. Even then I appreciated the fact that at least it all got done at once. Our present day convenient washers and dryers just lend themselves to a never ending job.

I'd do your laundry. Some weird organizational part of me (granted, it's a *small* part) enjoys it, if only there weren't so many other more immediate tasks that needed to be done. I'm with the previous commenter who suggested folding while watching tv at night.

And for me? You could carry in my groceries from the car and put them away. It's like torture after hauling yourself and kids around the store, loading everything up, unloading at home, and putting things where they go. A monumental task.

Hate laundry, taking groceries out of the car and putting them away and doing dishes. For us, it's dishes. They are always piled in the sink. No matter how many times I wash them. I turn around for 1 second and the glass that my daughter drank one sip of the tea she HAD to have is in the sink! Drives me crazy.
